Unlike traditional soothers, the NUK Teat Trainer is a medical device. As a therapeutic tool, it makes an important contribution to improving poor sucking skills and to helping rectify oral motor dysfunction (e.g. breathing through the mouth, problems with sucking, chewing, swallowing, speaking and facial gestures). Unrelenting bad habits such as grinding or clenching teeth and tongue thrusting, associated with pain and jaw cracking, can also be effectively treated. The logopaedic use of the NUK Teat Trainer during breathing, voice and speech therapy is just as important and valuable. The NUK Teat Trainer can also be used in Padovan myotherapy to rectify or repeat the natural order of reconstructing perception and movement skills with gaps, defects and deficiencies being corrected in this way.
