Glass Bottles

Glass is the classic material for drinking and food containers - also for baby food. Glass baby bottles are made of a particularly robust and chemically resistant glass, which offer high scratch resistance. NUK’s products are always made of borosilicate glass, which is highly resistant to temperature changes due to its structure. Thanks to the transparency of the glass, you can see milk or drink residues particularly well when cleaning the glass baby bottles. The high thermal shock resistance means that NUK glass bottles can be cleaned and boiled very often. If you feed older children tea or juices, the high-quality material of the glass baby bottles will not discolour.

Glass or plastic bottles for my baby?

For a long time, the natural answer would have been "glass bottles". However, the quality of plastic and glass bottles for babies has now become so similar that it is now more a matter of the intended use and personal preferences. Glass baby bottles, for example, have the great advantage that they are absolutely odourless and neutral in taste. In addition, if handled carefully, baby glass bottles hardly wear out at all compared to plastic bottles and, therefore, need to be replaced less often.

Nevertheless, the question of whether glass or plastic baby bottles are better cannot be answered generally. In contrast to glass baby bottles, plastic bottles are lighter and more resistant to breakage. This makes them particularly suitable for when you are out and about. In order to reliably cover all of your baby's needs, we recommend an individual mix with a supply of bottles made of both materials. This way, you always stay flexible and have the right baby bottle ready for every occasion!
